Some history...

This article was published in the August 1997 edition of the Washington, DC City Paper.  It came about after I started a conversation with a tourist visiting Constitution Gardens pond on the National Mall.  I had put a fly rod in the gentleman's hand and taught him to cast, and before he knew it he had caught his first fish on a fly.  It was only a small bream, but not a fish he would soon forget.
